2017 Blue Cow Cup
25-years-on: the Blue Cow Cup continues to serve as an important platform for all junior skiers to either test-the-water - or show the others how it’s done!
Competing in Alpine and skier-cross, this event (and a hand-full of others like it) has proved to be the testing ground where nearly ALL of Australia’s National team honed their skills and/or added the first silver to the trophy cabinet.
Taken seriously – but not too seriously, first-time competitors (in under 10 and under 12 age-groups) are allowed to compete WITHOUT a race license, giving participants invaluable competitive experience alongside their contemporaries.
Only SSA licensed Skiers (in under 14 and under 16 age-groups) can compete in the SSA Children’s series however.
Blue Cow Cup
Registrations: Close on Wednesday 2 August at Midnight.
Entry Fee: $58 per event, cost is per entrant and includes GST.
Waivers: All competitors must agree to the waiver and release online during registration.
Bibs: By registering for this event you are agreeing to a replacement fee of $40 per bib, to be charged to your credit card used at the time of registration, if an allocated bib is not returned by the finishing date of the event.
Helmet: Helmet use is mandatory for all participants and volunteers during all race events.
Saturday 5 August - Giant Slalom
- 1st Run Inspection: 9:15am
- 1st Run Start: 9:45am
- 2nd Run: To follow immediately after run 1.
- Location: Mother- In Law
- Access: Freedom Chair. Guthega.
This race will be run as a 2 run GS race: 2 runs, fastest time to count. All competitors will be given a second run. Running order will be youngest to oldest age categories, female first in each category.
Mother- In Law is a Blue Run, athletes must be strong intermediate skiers for this event.
Bib Collection will be at top of the course from 9:15am.
Presentation will be approx. one hour after the completion of the event at Blue Cow Bistro.

Sunday 6 August - Stubbie Slalom
- 1st Run Inspection: 9:15am
- 1st Run Start: 9:45am
- 2nd Run: To follow immediately after run 1.
- Location: Mother- In Law

Monday 7 August - Ski Cross
- Inspection and Training: 9:15am
- Start Time Trials: 10:15am
- Finals: Following qualifications
- Location: Centre Valley Rider Cross Course, Perisher
All competitors will have 2 time trial runs- the best run will count as race run and be used to determine results.
Bib collection will be at top of the course from 9:15am.
Centre Valley is a Blue Run and all participants must be strong intermediate skiers for this event.
Presentations for SX will be will be approx. an hour after the completion of the SX event at the base of the Village Eight Express Chair in Perisher.
