2017 SSA Children's Championships

The SSA Children’s Series, is part one of a two part series to determine Australian Champions for U14 and U16s. All entrants must have SSA Alpine Registration.

The First Team Captains Meeting for the SSA Childrens Champs Races will be held at the Perisher Ski Tube Meeting Room, Friday August 4th at 5:30pm. All athletes need to be represented at this meeting. Subsequent meetings will be held approximately 1.5 hours after the completion of the day’s event. 

Any changes to the program will be emailed to participants and posted here. 

Registrations: Close on Wednesday 2 August at Midnight. 
Entry Fee: $58 per event, cost is per entrant and includes GST.
Waivers: All competitors must agree to the waiver and release online during registration.
Bibs: By registering for this event you are agreeing to a replacement fee of $40 per lost bib, to be charged to your credit card used at the time of registration; if an allocated bib is not returned by the finishing date of the event.
Helmet: Helmet use is mandatory for all participants and volunteers during all race events.

Saturday 5 August  - Giant Slalom 

• 1st Run Inspection: 9:15am
• 2nd Run: To follow immediately after run 1.
• Location: Hypertrail
• Access: International T-Bar. - Perisher

GS will be run as two; one run races. Running order will be youngest to oldest age categories, female first in each category.

Sunday 6 August - Slalom

• 1st Run Inspection: 9:15am
• 2nd Run: To follow immediately after run 1.
• Location: Hypertrail
• Access: International T-Bar. - Perisher 

SL will be run as two; one run races. Running order will be youngest to oldest age categories, female first in each category.

Presentations for GS and SL will be will be approx. an hour after the completion of the SL event at the base of the Village Eight Chair in Perisher.

Monday 7 August - Ski Cross 

• Inspection and Training: 9:15am
• Start Qualifications: 10:15am
• Finals: Following qualifications
• Location: Sun Valley Rider Cross Course, Perisher 

U14 & U16 athletes will have two qualifying runs, the best time will be used to determine their ranking, they will then be placed in heats for finals (This will be single elimination format, and the number of athletes in the heats will be decided by the Jury and announced prior to qualifications). The numbers of finalists will be determined by number of competitors in each age group.

Presentations for SX will be will be approx. an hour after the completion of the SX event at the base of the Village Eight Chair in Perisher.
