2019 Snowy Mountains Classic - Freestyle
The 2019 Snowy Mountains Classic is a 2.5/7.5/15/30km Freestyle event held on Saturday 10th August. It is a Perisher XC Ski Week event.

Race Office
Race details and bibs can be collected on race day from the Race Office which is located at the Perisher Nordic Shelter and will be open from 8am - 9am.
Bibs are not transferable and competitors competing in another competitors bib will be disqualified.
Online Entries
Online entries will close on Wednesday 7 August at midnight.
Late entries will only be accepted up to 8.30am on race day.

Race Details
- The Race Organisers reserve the right to change the course or cancel the event in the interests of competitors' safety.
- Entry fees are not transferable and refunds will not be give under any circumstances.
- All races will start in the vicinity of the Nordic Shelter. If snow conditions do not permit, a revised start area will be displayed at the Nordic Shelter.
- This is a freestyle race, however competitors are free to ski classical technique.
- All races will be a mass start.

Track
Will start and finish at the Nordic Shelter and proceed around existing trails. The final course will be dependent upon snow and weather conditions.
- 30km race is subject to a minimum age of 16 years.
- A one and a half (1 1/2) hour cut off time will apply to the first 15km of the 30km course. No competitors will be allowed to continue past the 15km point of the course after this time. The cutoff time and point could vary dependent upon the final track layout and weather and snow conditions.
- 15km race is subject to a minimum age of 14 years.
- 7.5km race will start at the Nordic Shelter and follow existing trails. This race is open to all ages however young children should be accompanied by an adult.
- 2.5km race will start at the Nordic Shelter and follow existing trails. This is a race for families, novices and young children (who should be accompanied by an adult).
Race Rules
- A race official/marshal's decision is final and must be obeyed to ensure the safely of all competitors.
- Due to the changing weather conditions, it is essential that each competitor equip themselves with adequate clothing (warm, waterproof and windproof).
- Bib numbers must be visible at all times
- In the event of a competitor showing signs of distress or injury, the race officials hold the right to withdraw a competitor for safety reasons. The race official's decision will be final.
- If a competitor withdraws from the race at any stage then they must advise the Ski patrol or a Race Official and return your bib and timing transponder.
Finish Procedure
All competitors will be required to return their bibs and timing transponders at the finish line.
Refreshments and Aid Stations
A number of aid stations will be located around the course dependent upon the final course.
Presentations
Presentations will be held at the Sundeck Hotel, Perisher Valley on Saturday after the event from 2.30pm.
Results
Results will be posted on the Perisher XC website https://www.perisherxcountry.org/events/results/

By obtaining a SnowID your personal information will be auto-filled into the event registration. Once you have obtained a SnowID, you will be sent a Username via email. This username will be asked when you click on “REGISTER” above. Once you have logged into the SSA website complete the Additional Information required.
Snowracer (identified with your SnowID #) has been implemented by SSA and is an initiative to increase participation for recreational and competitive skiers and snowboarders and is FREE to join. All participants with a current SnowID # are provided with FREE insurance cover while competing in Australia. This insurance is for non-medical expenses to the value of $500 and covers items such as refunds for your entry fee and lift tickets, lost accommodation or car repatriation.
